you're MISSING a gold mine of knowledge π
Most of my readers never click this one link that gives a new understanding of Africa's past, present and future.
Hi,
Most of my readers never click this one link. But the ones who do walk away with a new understanding of Africa's past, present and future.
My archive of over 100 articles, videos, podcasts and analyses on African history and current affairs is a click away in every email you get connected to the β‘οΈ Alkebulan Website on Substack.
Want to read the 15 part Assassination Of African Leaders series?
The Cleopatra Black Or White series on ancient Egypt?
The Debt Trap in Africa Series?
BRICS: Death Of The Dollar?
The Franc Zone: How France Controls most of west Africa?
There is so much more. Itβs all in the archive and itβs expanding all the time.
With all the new people whoβve signed up, Iβm going to explain how, by not clicking through to this archive, youβre missing out on a ton of valuable knowledge on Africa.
PAY ATTENTION
It seems over 5,000 new followers (and 1,000 new subscribers) have joined my Substack in the past 30 days!
I think an introduction is in order so we all get to know each other and maybe some of you followers decide to do the right thing and become subscribers π
If youβre one of the new people, welcome and please tell us who you are in the comments and what drew you to the Alkebulan Substack.
If youβve been here since I started this substack over two years ago, thank you.
Whether youβre black, white, green or blue, all that matters is that you want to learn the truth about Africa, the most maligned and misunderstood continent on earth.
As such, itβs a good time to show you how things work here ππΎ
π§ How the Alkebulan substack works
I publish a free post a week, a premium paid post every other week and a live or recorded podcast that generally comes on each Sunday but I do have pop up lives from time to time.
1 free article (weekly): true African history or a breakdown of current events
1 paid article (two times a month): deep dive into current affairs in Africa or a detailed historical analysis
1 podcast episode (Sundays): usually my commentary on historical or current topics in Africa and the diaspora. This is usually live but sometimes recorded.
Everything I publish is archived on the Alkebulan Substack website. I strongly adivise you check it out as itβs the home of everything mentioned above.
π‘ Why paid memberships are a big deal
Iβm committed to keeping most of this work free.
But producing high-quality content across multiple platforms isnβt easy.
For some, that monthly $8 is a coffee and a bagel.
For many in Africa, itβs a dayβs worth of meals.
Paid members make it possible for everyone to access my newsletter, regardless of circumstance.
π What paid members unlock
Full access to the entire archive of 100+ articles, podcasts, videos on the website (do check this out now if you havenβt!)

Founding Member tier. This is for those who want to show added support for this newsletter and the work I do.
π‘οΈ Going back to our roots in community
Africa was built on community before colonization shattered that foundation.
This Substack is part of restoring what we lost.
Thank you again for being here.
This work exists because of you.
Thank you
Hi hi, I'm Mav! I'm a queer Nigerian writer and what drew me to this substack was my desire to learn more about Africa's history. I found here when I stumbled upon the iirst post in the series about African leaders that had a great vision for the continent but were eventually killed off by the powers that be.
