In 2015 and 2016 there were mass protests in Ethiopia spearheaded by the Oromo people.. This unrest wasn’t new and is by no means resolved as of today, but this is when it reached its apex. In order to understand why they occurred and why this group had such influence over Ethiopian society and politics in spite of negligible representation in power, we need to take a look at their magnificent history.
