Are you ready for Captain Africa? Sneak Peak! π₯βπΎ
The first true African comic book super hero is set to hit social media in the coming weeks
Alkebulanians,
I told you Iβve been working on an African superhero comic strip. A ten-panel classic-style comic that I would release monthly on my social media platforms.
This hero was inspired by Captain Traore of Burkina Faso, the current head of the Sahel Alliance of Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso.
No, it isnβt HIM but inspired by what he and the likes of Sankara and Lumumba represent. This is why I chose to make him a soldier mercenary who realises his greater purpose to fight for and defend the continent and people of Alkebulan.
Thank you to THE IIIH (The 300) funding community and all my paid subscribers on Substack. You are the reason why I am able to do this, and your financial support continues to fuel my creative endeavours.
Yes, there will be an origin story, adventures that encompass the modern struggles of the African people and his focus will be on us and not some international agenda or aliens from outer space (yet).
Most importantly, YOU, my audience, have direct contact with ME, the creator, through this Substack podcast and newsletter, as I build these stories, which is something no other superhero character run by Marvel or Disney can say. Especially for black and African people.
We are already building my graphic novel series THE CRUSADERS (I trust you all got your episodes 1 & 2 copies linked below), and we are building CAPTAIN AFRICA.
If you are a paid subscriber, below you will see a the full 10 panel first episode of Captain Africa episode 1 strip ahead of the general release next week. Let me know your thoughts in the comments! ππΎ
