One of the biggest misconceptions we’ve inherited is that Africa was a mess before colonisation. A continent full of tribes, chaos, no structure, no systems and because we didn’t have borders like Europe, we’re told that means we didn’t have order.
The truth is, Pre-colonial Africa didn’t have borders because we didn’t need them.
