A White (British) Man's Quest To Divide South Africa

Examining the Referendum Party's efforts to separate the Western Cape and create an independent country

I saw a video a few weeks ago about a man called Phil Craig from the UK who became a naturalised South African. Now that in and of itself isn’t anything to take note of, however, this white transplant to Africa seeks to split the Western Cape from the rest of the country in one of the most controversial movements South Africa has seen in generations. The Cape Independence movement, often referred to as "CapeXit," represents a significant and growing political sentiment in South Africa, particularly within the Western Cape province. This movement, is driven by a complex mix of political, economic, cultural, and social factors.
